Manchester City are always on the hunt for incredible talents to acquire them and strengthen their squad. They have now put their eyes on Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to Givemesport. His arrival will add depth to the already star-studded squad of City.
As Newcastle United is unlikely to qualify for the Champions League, Guimaraes won’t mind leaving the club. Even the club will prefer offloading the player if any mouth-watering offer arrives. They will try to make profits and invest in other areas of the squad.
Bruno Guimaraes is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a central midfield. He is known for his passing, vision and creativity on the field. He arrived at Newcastle United from French side Lyon for a reported fee of £40m in the 2022 January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has scored three goals and provided five assists in 36 games this season so far. He is averaging 1.9 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 0.7 clearances per game. In the attacking aspect also, he has an average of 1.1 shots per game, 1.2 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
It shows his consistency and versatility in the midfield. He signed a new contract with the Magpies, which will keep him at St James’ Park until 2028. However, any club can trigger the release clause of approximately £105m and lure away the midfielder.
Manchester City have been monitoring Bruno Guimaraes for a long time. They even asked for his availability last summer alongside arch-rivals Chelsea. However, they will have a real chance to acquire his services in the summer transfer window.
But do they really need him? The Citizens already have a very strong midfield unit that has been bringing in the desired results. Also, the price of acquiring Guimaraes seems too much. They can sign multiple quality players for that much money.
While Pep Guardiola‘s obsession with the versatile midfielders is understandable, the deal has to be fair enough. With interest from multiple clubs, the signing of Guimaraes won’t be easy and still stands far away.
