Nottingham Forest see £25m James McAtee bid 'rejected' by Man City | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have had a bid worth around £25m rejected by Manchester City for midfielder James McAtee, according to Sky Sports News.

Forest are pushing hard to sign the 22-year-old, but City are holding out for a higher fee amid growing interest from other clubs.

Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves reported the rejected offer on Tuesday, adding that City could be open to a sale, but only at the right price. “Understand Nottingham Forest have had an offer in the region of £25m rejected by Manchester City for James McAtee,” Graves wrote on social media. “Forest pushing. City maybe open to sale but holding out for bigger fee. Other clubs interested as well.”

The move comes after Forest secured a significant fee from the sale of winger Anthony Elanga, which may have influenced City’s valuation.

McAtee, a product of City’s academy, is highly rated at the Etihad Stadium, but his first-team opportunities have been limited under Pep Guardiola. He made 27 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals.

Forest have been active in the market this summer under manager Nuno Espírito Santo, with reported interest in players including Dan Ndoye, Adama Traoré, and Jacob Ramsey.

With multiple clubs tracking McAtee and City holding firm on their valuation, the coming days could prove decisive in determining the young midfielder’s future.
