In just 78 games at Old Trafford he already has a massive 40 goals to his name, as well as a further 25 assists, showing just how crucial he has been for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

His smart strike in the eventual 4-2 defeat to Liverpool on Thursday saw his tally for the current campaign in all competitions increase to 28, extending his lead at the top of United's goalscoring charts.

Lampard's s best season came in the 2009/10 season, in which he managed to score 27 times across all competitions.

Fernandes surpassed that against Liverpool and it's a record that he is clearly proud of. Rui Guimaraes, the 26-year-old's agent, shared a photo to his Instagram story which showed Fernandes' better goal tally and then he labelled him as the 'G.O.A.T.'

Fernandes then shared the story himself.
