Manchester United are keen on signing RB Salzburg attacking midfielder Nene Dorgeles, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are monitoring the situation of the 22-year-old Mali international, and initial talks have already taken place.
Man United could lose Marcus Rashford and Antony before the end of the winter transfer window, and Dorgeles has emerged as a target.
Dubbed a ‘speedy attacker’ on Salzburg’s official website, the Malian has bagged six goals and six assists in 27 games across all competitions this term.
Dorgeles ended last term with five goals and four assists and was involved in 17 goals in 2022-23.
He is an exceptional dribbler and passer, capable of holding on to the ball, and his defensive contribution and work rate are also impressive.
Dorgeles plays predominantly on the left wing, and United could be keen to sign him because of his defensive attributes.
Manager Ruben Amorim wants a left wing-back capable of playing the style he wants, and the Salzburg star could be fit for the job despite being a winger.
The Red Devils are in dire need of quality players as they look to end a stuttering campaign on an impressive note, and a squad overhaul is required this month.
Some major departures could be on the cards, and signing hidden gems such as Dorgeles could be a sensible move.
Man United cannot splash the cash right now, given the need to adhere to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
However, they will be able to afford the Malian, and getting a deal over the line should not be too tricky.
