Manchester United are looking to pick up where Arsenal left off and grant Benjamin Sesko his desired Premier League move.
The 22-year-old has been tipped to complete a transfer away from RB Leipzig since the start of the summer, with United now considering an unexpected swoop in the aftermath of their failed attempts to sign Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres.
According to journalist Christopher Michel, United have today ‘intensified their pursuit’ of the striker in a move that’s being spearheaded by Director of Recruitment Christopher Vivell, who became well acquainted with Sesko due to his stints at both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig; his connections are said to have given the club an ‘advantage’ this summer.

The Old Trafford faithful will be well aware that it’s not the first time Sesko has been linked with the club. In fact, United’s interest dates as far back as July 2022, and has been renewed in the subsequent years as he’s continued his development into a free-scoring forward.
This summer, with him eyeing Leipzig’s exit and United floundering to sanction a centre-forward’s arrival, could pose as the most suitable time to finally hash out an agreement.
It certainly won’t come cheap, though. When Sesko was receiving approaches from a host of his suitors this time last year, Leipzig were able to convince him to not only stay put, but also put pen to paper on a bumper deal to keep him tied to the Red Bull Arena until 2029.
As a result, the German outfit holds a strong bargaining position in talks – hence Arsenal eventually being priced out of a deal. Michel adds that the Slovenian’s release clause is between £60-69 million, while INEOS have just agreed deals worth £62.m and £71m for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, respectively.
