Man Utd are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on USA international Tyler Adams and Leeds United ‘fear’ they will lose the midfielder this summer.

Adams was one of Leeds United’s signings during last summer’s transfer window. They paid around £20m to buy him from RB Leipzig.

The 24-year-old has been one of Leeds’ better players this season but he has been out of action for a couple of months due to a hamstring injury.

The West Yorkshire outfit have won just two of their last 11 games while Adams has been unavailable. They head into the final day of the season needing a win over Tottenham to give themselves any hope of staying in the Premier League.

Football Insider claim ‘Leeds United fear they have no chance of keeping hold of Adams if they are relegated’ and Man Utd will ‘swoop’ to get him this summer. The report adds.

‘Sources have said Adams is wanted by multiple clubs in the Premier League and in top European leagues, and Leeds are unlikely to keep hold of him if they go down. ‘He is one of the few United players capable of securing a £35million-plus fee, cash which will be needed if they don’t have the Premier League broadcasting cash next season. ‘Man Utd are among the teams keeping tabs on Adams, whose dynamism and energy in midfield has impressed their recruitment team.’

Erik ten Hag is expected to overhaul his squad this summer and he will need to sell players to fund moves for his preferred targets.

It is a priority for Man Utd to sign a new striker and they may also recruit a new centre-back with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof being linked with moves elsewhere.

United are currently well-covered at left-back as they have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia to choose from. Despite this, Spanish outlet Sport are reporting that Man Utd are an ‘option’ for Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba.

The 34-year-old has played over 450 times for Barcelona and he has been involved in 126 goals across all competitions. He has slipped down the pecking order under Xavi as he has only started 13 times in La Liga.

Alba has opted to leave Barcelona this summer and he ‘wants to continue playing at the highest level’. Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are mentioned as potential destinations, but he is ‘attracted’ by the Premier League and Man Utd must be ‘taken into account’.

A fourth option for Alba is to move to Saudi Arabia, but he is ‘initially reluctant’ to move to the Middle East for ‘family reasons’.
