Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich have officially submitted their third bid for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz. Sky Germany does not mention a specific figure, but does confirm that the Bundesliga club has gone above their previous offer of €67.5m. Bayern have their own financial limits in mind when it comes to realizing this particular transfer.
Liverpool’s willingness to negotiate with the German giants has never really stood in question. Plettenberg nevertheless emphasizes that the Premier League champions remain reluctant to let the Colombian go. The fact that two Bundesliga mega-stars Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitiké have moved Merseyside this summer apparently doesn’t affect Liverpool’s calculus.
In principle, a structured deal that pushes the fee over €80m via bonuses could help the two sides come to terms. Bayern may be willing to go higher still now that the pursuit of VfB Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade looks to be done. The German record champions have still not completed a major signing for the attacking corps this summer.
