Manchester United monitoring Bayern Munich starlet Jamal Musiala

According to Goal.com (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are among a trifecta of Premier League clubs keeping a close watch on the contract situation of Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala.

Having started out the academy of German club Lehnerz, Musiala shifted to England at a very young age and had stints with the Southampton and Chelsea youth setups.

Musiala made the switch to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2019 and went on to make his senior debut in June last year. Since then, he has been racking up minutes on a fairly regular basis.

The attacking midfielder, who turns 18 next month, has featured 18 times for the European champions this term. He has contributed with three goals in the process.

Musiala’s current contract with Bayern Munich runs out in 2022. Set to enter the final year of his deal at the end of the season, the teenager has been locked in negotiations over a new contract. However, things haven’t gone as per plans.

It is claimed that Musiala is demanding wages worth £100,000-a-week, which Bayern are reluctant to offer, given his tender age. And if an agreement is not reached, a summer exit could be on the cards.

This has put Manchester United on high alert, with the Red Devils keeping a close eye on Musiala’s situation ahead of a possible summer swoop. Along with us, rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are also monitoring the 17-year-old.
