Robin van Persie could soon have his first managerial job according to reports from Dutch outlet Voetbal International.
The reports states that the former Manchester United, Arsenal and Feyenoord striker is a leading candidate to take charge of Heerenveen and that club director Ferry de Haan has already had an āexploratory conversationā with the 40-year-old.
The pair have already worked together when van Persie was coming through at the Rotterdam, over two decades ago.
The report also says that another former United and Dutch legend, Ruud van Nistelrooy, was also an option for the role but turned it down as he wants to work abroad after his most recent stint with PSV Eindhoven.
Van Persie is currently the assistant at Feyneoord, having previously coached the U16, U18 and U19 teams of his boyhood club.
