The task facing La Liga giants Real Madrid in the club’s 2nd leg meeting with Manchester City next week looks set to be made an altogether more challenging one, by way of the return of two headline members of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Real, of course, are primed to make the trip to Manchester next Wednesday.

After battling their way to a pulsating 3-3 stalemate with City at the Santiago Bernabéu, Los Blancos now face the daunting task of emerging triumphant from a ground at which they were sent packing from the Champions League by four goals to nil just last season.

Safe to say, then, that the impending comebacks of not one, but two key Sky Blues stars is the last thing which Carlo Ancelotti and co. would have wanted to hear of.

But, as per a report from Diario AS, precisely as much appears to be on the cards.

Kevin De Bruyne, who was a last-minute scratch from Pep Guardiola’s starting XI to face Real Madrid owing to a bout of illness, looks a certainty to take his place back in the City line-up at The Etihad next week.

And also looking increasingly likely to make his injury comeback in the clash, it is understood, is Kyle Walker.

Right-back Walker was a notable absentee in Spain’s capital in midweek, amid ongoing efforts to recover from a muscular problem suffered whilst on international duty with England.

The 33-year-old, though, is in the final stretch of his recovery, therefore expected to take his place on the right of Man City’s backline, a welcome boost in their hopes of keeping Vinícius Jr. quiet.
