In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid have identified Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva as a target for the upcoming transfer window. It is believed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to sign the Portugal international as they look to bolster their squad this summer.

Silva’s Impressive Run Of Form At Man City This Season

Silva is having another impressive campaign at the Mancunian club after he put in a series of eye-catching performances for them in the final third. The Portuguese talent has played in 44 matches for Man City this season, scoring 11 times and picking up six assists in the process on all fronts.

The 29-year-old has been a reliable performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.0 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been careful when distributing the ball, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 89% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will expire in the summer of 2026 which could make it difficult for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Silva?

Silva usually works hard for his team defensively and can strike the ball with venom and precision from long-range. He has got the vision to create some promising chances for his teammates in and around the opposition penalty area and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.

The Portugal international mainly plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a right-winger or as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. He would bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s match-day squad.

At 29, Silva is still playing in his prime which makes him a worthy target for the Madrid outfit to consider in the summer. Hence, Ancelotti would be wise to move in for him when the transfer window commences at the end of this campaign. However, only time will tell whether Silva can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football if Real Madrid manage to snap him up this year.
