Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze has agreed to join Aston Villa and a deal is close to being completed, according to French journalist Marc Mechenoua. Villa have offered an initial €25 million for the Georgian international, and talks are ongoing between both clubs over a move to Villa Park. The Villans want to strengthen in attack and have been linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier. They also have West Ham United attacker Lucas Paqueta on their radar, but a deal for Mikautadze could be agreed instead.

The 24-year-old ended last term with 17 goals and 11 assists across all competitions and has scored once in two games so far this term. Villa could lose Morgan Rogers or Ollie Watkins before the transfer deadline on Monday, and it appears they are preparing for the potential exit of either attacker.
