An insight into the plans of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti when it comes to his XI to face Villarreal has today been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards heavy rotation being lined up once more.

After the Real Madrid coaching staff opted to return to a near-full strength XI against Alavés in midweek, some of the more seldom-seen members of Los Blancos’ ranks are expected to return to the fore at La Cerámica.

Locked in as guaranteed starters are Andriy Lunin and Arda Güler.

The most likely back-four as things stand comprises of Lucas Vázquez, Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, and Fran García.

Midfield poses the most uncertainty, with AS naming Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modrić as the current front-runners to make up Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room.

It is not out of the question, though, that youngster Mario Martín, after being afforded his La Liga debut in midweek, could step into a starting role.

Further forward, meanwhile, the aforementioned Arda Güler will be joined by Brahim Díaz and Joselu, to make up an in-form attacking trident.
