Despite London City Lionesses only having a short history, Fitzgerald is a club legend and she has the opportunity to represent The Pride for at least another year after signing a new deal with the club.

After extending her contract with London City Lionesses, Fitzgerald said “It feels great to be back for another season. It’s an incredibly exciting time for the Club and I can’t wait to get started again. With Michele [Kang] coming in and implementing her vision, it feels like the start of something different, with lots of new staff coming in.

“Michele’s ambition for this season is for us to be promoted and every one of us players is truly determined to make it happen. Personally, I want to build on last season, I played and developed a lot, and I want to continue with that.”

Fitzgerald becomes the third player to sign a new contract with London City Lionesses this summer.
