Liverpool target Florent Ghisolfi responds to OGC Nice departure links | OneFootball

As reported by The Athletic, OGC Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is being considered for the Liverpool role. Jorg Schmadtke had occupied the role until the end of his mandate in January; a replacement is expected at the end of the season, in what will be a summer of change at Anfield, with Jürgen Klopp also set to depart.

Ghisolfi is just one name on Liverpool’s shortlist, which also includes Michael Edwards. The former has garnered high praise for the work he has done firstly at RC Lens and now at Nice. The Frenchman arrived at the Allianz Riviera in October 2022. His first permanent managerial opponent has proved to be a success with Francesco Farioli taking Le Gym to fifth in Ligue 1 and the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.

However, could his time with Nice be cut short? Speaking to Nice-Matin, Ghisolfi was flattered by the interest in his services, however, he said he was happy at the Riviera club.

“The requests from big clubs are rewarding. For me and all of my teams, the work is collective, but today, I am very proud to be the sporting director of OGC Nice and proud to work with Fabrice (Bocquet) and the board,” he said.
