Aston Villa are in preliminary talks with Liverpool over Harvey Elliott. The Reds have set a fierce price for the player.
The Athletic reports that Aston Villa are 'exploring a move' for Harvey Elliott. The playmaker is thought to be available on deadline day for the right price.
Elliott, after all, barely featured for Liverpool last season. Arne Slot didn't appear to be a fan, holding off on using the player solidly until after the title had been confirmed.

However, the transfer deadline has now arrived and Elliot remains at Liverpool player. Anfield Watch understands that the Reds have already rejected a bid today from RB Leipzig of around €40m.
Now Villa are in position to try something else, potentially convincing Liverpool to accept the money here. Though, there's a fairly steep price tag on Elliott.
The Athletic claim Liverpool accept £40m for Elliott (that's pounds, not Euros as Leipzig offered) with a buyback clause. The Reds have been keen to put those into deals this summer, with Jarell Quansah one of those with such an option.
It seems that to get a deal without a buyback clause, a team would need to offer over £50m. And that's an interesting one.
There's no question as far as we see it that Elliott is a £50m talent. Especially in this market.
