In a recent report, The Athletic mentioned that Liverpool have agreed on a deal worth £35m to sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. It has been stated that the English centre-back is set to have his medical at the Merseyside club on transfer deadline day.
Guehi has enjoyed a decent run of form at the South London club after helping them win the Community Shield recently. The English talent has made six appearances for the Eagles this season and managed to score a great goal against Aston Villa last weekend.
The 25-year-old has given a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field as he has made 5 tackles, 2 interceptions and 13 clearances for Palace in the Premier League so far. Guehi has even distributed possession relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 83.9% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
Guehi is currently among the best defenders in English football, so Liverpool have done well to get him on board on transfer deadline day.

Guehi is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot.
The English talent can even play his way out from the back. He should fit Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s playing style quite well following the international break.
We can expect Guehi to bring a lot of quality to the Merseyside club’s backline. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming seasons.
At 25, Guehi has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for the Reds this summer. He is vastly experienced in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Merseyside club. The England international would also help Liverpool challenge for a lot of major trophies over the next few years. Thus, it was a no-brainer for Slot to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
