Liverpool and PSG Target Not ‘Pushing’ for Summer Exit from Leeds United, Expert Says | OneFootball

Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville has been heavily linked to a recent Paris Saint-Germain move. The French capital club has also been rumored to be interested in other quality wingers, such as Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

Summerville made 49 appearances for Leeds United, scoring 21 goals and registering 10 assists for the Championship side. A recent report from ESPN NL reveals that PSG and Liverpool are the two best-placed clubs to secure Summerville.

Furthermore, the report reveals that new Reds coach Arne Solt has already spoken with the player. Amid interest from clubs like Liverpool and PSG, journalist Ben Jacobs spoke to Give Me Sport about the latest about the 22-year-old.

“PSG haven’t bid yet, but the interest is real, and as I say, there’s a handful of Premier League clubs that could still enter the race as well,” Jacobs told the outlet. “[Summerville has] always been very respectful. He’s always been very appreciative of Leeds and how they’ve helped him develop, and he likes it there.

“And as I said in January, Summerville was never pushing to leave Leeds… So if he goes, it will naturally be for an opportunity that has bigger wages, like European football. But if he does end up staying at Leeds, I think under that scenario, he’ll be perfectly content as well, because he’s that kind of character that’s really bought into Farke, his style, and that puts Leeds again in a stronger position.”

As for how much Liverpool or PSG will need to pay, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano recently reported that it could take a fee between £35 million and £40 million to secure the Dutch winger. The question will be, could Leeds United decide to hold onto their star player?
