RC Lens have confirmed that Al-Nassr are in negotiations with Seko Fofana (28). The Ivory Coast midfielder isn’t opposed to a move to the Gulf State, according to L’Équipe.

Fofana spectacularly extended his Lens contract until 2025 on the pitch of the Bollaert at the beginning of last season. However, less than a year later, he may already be on the move. Despite Le Sang et Or qualifying for the Champions League group stages next season, Fofana will be allowed to leave the club should a reasonable offer arrive.

The Saudi Private Investment Fund (PIF) are certainly capable of constructing a reasonable offer for the Lens captain. Amidst the Gulf State’s interest, Lens confirmed the ongoing negotiations. “The club confirms exchanges between Al-Nassr, Seko Fofana and his entourage on one side, and on the other, between Seko Fofana, his entourage and Lens. The exchanges are taking place with the greatest transparency, a lot of mutual respect and in the best interest of all involved parties,” said the club in a statement transcribed by L’Équipe.

The PIF have a 75% stake in Al-Nassr, and the club already contains Cristiano Ronaldo, Other big-name players such as N’Golo Kanté and Karim Benzema have already made the move to the Gulf State this summer.

Another Lens midfielder, Jean Onana, who only started nine Ligue 1 games last season, could also leave the club this summer, whilst Andy Diouf looks set to arrive at the club after Lens reached an agreement with FC Basel.
