RC Lens have reached an agreement with Strasbourg for the signing of 20-year-old goalkeeper Robin Risser, according to a report from Foot Mercato. L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi reports that a transfer fee of €3m plus €2m in bonuses has been reached. With a move for Reims’ Yehvann Diouf collapsing – the France U21 international now poised to join OGC Nice – Lens turned their attention to Risser, a long-term target for the club. The young Frenchman is coming off a standout campaign on loan at Red Star, where he helped the Parisian side secure promotion to Ligue 2.

Risser, also a France youth international, is set to undergo a medical in Lens in the coming hours before signing his contract with the Sang et Or.

A product of Strasbourg’s academy, Risser was widely regarded as one of the top-performing goalkeepers in Ligue 2 last season. The RCSA keeper joined Red Star FC for the second half of the season following an injury to No.1 Quentin Bernardeau. The France U21 international played in 19 matches for Les Audoniens who managed to secure Ligue 2 safety at the first time of asking since promotion from the third tier.GFFN | George Boxall
