FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Leicester City this evening.
Scofield joined Leicester City from their Midlands rivals Birmingham City in 2021 but the youngster has struggled for game time with The Foxes as a result of niggling injuries and competition in the squad. The midfielder has played just 167 minutes of football for Leicester City this season with six of those minutes coming in Barclays Women’s Super League matches.
With Scofield unlikely to be handed a significant role for Leicester City in the second half of the season, the decision has been made to loan the player to Coventry United. The 23-year-old joins a Coventry United side who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the Barclays Women’s Championship table. Scofield could play a leading role for Lee Burch’s side in the coming weeks.
Scofield has become the third player to leave Leicester City in the current transfer window. Northern Ireland international defender Demi Vance has left the club by mutual consent while Scofield joins teammate Ellen Jones at Coventry United with the midfielder having also been loaned to The Red and Greens.
