According to Sky Sports, Leeds United are willing to sell their club record signing Georiginio Rutter (21) before the end of the window if they can recoup most of the money they spent to sign him from Hoffenheim. In a bid to survive in the Premier League, Leeds shelled out a club-record fee of £35m to sign the French U21 international.

Lyon are reportedly interested in signing the former Hoffenheim forward, before the transfer window closes, as a replacement for the want-away Bradley Barcola, as pre a report from Téléfoot. Barcola has told the club that he wants to leave amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. Leeds previously rejected an offer for Rutter from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer worth €25m.

The Yorkshire club’s desire to recoup most of the money they spent on Rutter makes a move for Les Gones prohibitive. With a loan move including a record-fee obligation-to-buy move for Ernest Nuamah set to be completed, Lyon are limited in the money they can spend this summer following restrictions placed on the club by the DNCG. As things stand, a move from Elland Road to the Groupama Stadium for the Frenchman looks improbable.
