Becky Langley wants her players to use the pain of Saturday's FAWNL Cup final loss to Hashtag United Women to inspire them to make sure they lift the league title at the end of the season.

Newcastle United Women find themselves with a 12-point lead in the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division and only four games left to play - albeit rivals Nottingham Forest Women and Burnley Women have two and three games in hand respectively.

The Magpies are getting set to welcome Liverpool Feds to Kingston Park on Sunday in what will be their penultimate home game of the season and their first fixture since their devastating final defeat at Kenilworth Road.

While the heartache was there for all to see both on and off the pitch, Langley is urging her players to take positives from their performance and use the emotions they felt at full time to push them onto a second successive promotion.

'We need to make sure this is not a hangover,' Langley said ahead of United's first home game at Kingston Park in 42 days.

'We've got to use this as fuel to really kick on. We've got to use that hurt and pain of watching Hashtag lift the trophy to make sure we win our last four games and push ourselves into the Championship.'

Although they've not played at Kingston Park since a 2-1 victory against Derby County Women on 18th February, United were cheered on by a crowd of 22,307 against Portsmouth Women at St. James' Park recently and have been well-backed on the road in their three league games since, as well as taking more than 3,000 to Saturday's final at Luton Town.

Langley knows their supporters will be crucial during their run-in as the Magpies hope to reward their fantastic loyalty with another league title.

'The fans are honestly phenomenal,' Langley admitted. 'The numbers in which they've come down, we could hear them right at the start making such an amazing atmosphere and we could hear them through the match.'
