In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Manchester United are among the clubs hoping to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo. It has been claimed that the Red Devils will have to rival Newcastle United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Brazilian talent this summer.

Danilo’s Impressive Season In The Premier League

Danilo is having an encouraging campaign at the City Ground as he has managed to produce a series of impressive performances at the centre of Nottingham’s midfield. The Brazilian midfield ace has featured in 30 matches for Nottingham this season, scoring three goals and grabbing one assist in various competitions.

The 22-year-old has anchored the midfield with conviction and deserves some credit for averaging 0.9 tackles, 1.2 key passes and 1.3 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has also been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 81.4% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Nottingham will run out in the summer of 2029 which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap at the end of this season.

Is Danilo A Decent Fit For Manchester United?

Danilo loves a tacle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer of the ball as well.

The Brazilian sensation has already managed to earn some valuable experience in the Premier League under his belt. Hence, he won’t take much time to adjust to life at Old Trafford if Man United can find a way to win the race for his services.

At 22, Danilo has got the potential to become a future star in English football. Hence, he would be a good fit for the Mancunian club‘s needs in the long run. The Brazilian is already good enough to compete for a regular starting role at Old Trafford, so Man United should focus on getting a deal done for him when the transfer window reopens at the end of this campaign.
