Barcelona star Lamine Yamal secured for himself a fresh piece of recent Spanish football history in the club’s meeting with Mallorca.
This came courtesy of the winger’s late strike, to put the finishing touches on a comfortable victory.
Barcelona of course kicked their 2025/26 campaign into gear last weekend, in a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Mallorca.
When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops got the defence of their title up and running in altogether positive fashion, courtesy of a 3-0 triumph.
Wide-man Lamine, meanwhile, was responsible for the third of the Blaugrana’s goals, a brilliant bending finish from outside the penalty area.
And as alluded to above, in the process of finding the net for the latest time, the Spanish international etched his name ever further into the history books.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘Lamine Yamal has scored 15 goals in 74 LaLiga appearances, becoming the youngest player to reach 15 goals in the competition in the 21st century (18 years and 34 days), surpassing the previous record set by Ansu Fati in 2022 (19 years and 188 days).’
