After missing the Joan Gamper Trophy match and sitting out the opening La Liga fixture against Mallorca last Saturday, Robert Lewandowski’s return is now very close.
Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, the 36-year-old superstar is expected to be named in the squad for Saturday’s match against Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia.
Lewandowski had been sidelined with a thigh muscle strain that led to him missing the Gamper Trophy match against Como earlier this month.
Barcelona opted not to take any risks by rushing him back to action, and as such, the Poland international did not return in the La Liga opener against Mallorca either.
However, the ace goalscorer has been back training with the group in recent days, inching closer to a comeback after it was initially expected that he could be out for three weeks.

Lewandowski did a part of the drills with the group on Sunday, and as per the report, completed almost the entire training session with his teammates today.
As such, everything indicates that he will be back in the squad for the trip to Levante on Saturday, although a starting spot might be out of question for now, with Ferran Torres impressing in the No. 9 role against Mallorca.
Meanwhile, Hansi Flick continues to count on youngsters Jofre Torrents, Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Guille Fernandez and Toni Fernandez.
Having completed the entire pre-season with the senior setup and been included in the squad for last Saturday’s game in Palma, the Barcelona academy quartet continues to be in the first-team dynamics.
Frenkie de Jong, however, was absent from the session today with the club’s permission as he was with his partner at a hospital for the birth of his second child.
