La Liga have this week forwarded an official complaint to the offices of the RFEF, regarding the behaviour of sections of the home crowd in attendance at RCD Mallorca’s weekend meeting with Barcelona.
Mallorca and Barcelona of course locked horns as part of the opening round of fixtures of the 2025/26 La Liga campaign last Saturday.
When all was said and done, it was the latter who emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result, to get the defence of their title up and running in style.
As alluded to above, though, en route to as much, sections of the home fans, frustrated by a series of refereeing decisions during the first-half, allowed their emotions to get the better of them.
This comes amid confirmation that La Liga have sent a report to The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in relation to chants from the stands at Son Moix.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the report in question details the following:
‘In the 41st minute of the match, a group of local fans, located in the Lluís Sitjar Stand in the South End, led by a member with a microphone, sang in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 8 seconds the chant “Olele, olalá, being a Barça fan is being a moron”.’
‘In the 41st minute of the match, a group of local fans, located in the Lluís Sitjar Stand in the South End, led by a member with a microphone, sang in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 10 seconds the chant “Puta Barça, puta Barça eh”.’
It now remains to be seen if Mallorca are hit with any kind of sanction.
