The info comes courtesy of Marca, and points towards a clear picture as already being in mind for Carlo Ancelotti and co.

The subject of spot-kick duties has of course taken its place front and centre in the chatter surrounding Real Madrid this summer.

As much comes owing to the high-profile arrival of Kylian Mbappé.

The expectation was that Mbappé, who had long taken responsibility of penalties for Paris Saint-Germain, would quickly put himself in a position to do likewise in Spain’s capital, too.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, however, then as much, in fact, looks unlikely.

As per a report from Marca, Real Madrid’s first-choice penalty taker, as things stand, remains Vinícius Jr.

It is yet to be seen whether as much will still be the case come the season’s close, but, for the time being at least, frontman Mbappé ‘will have to wait for his chance’.
