Kylian Mbappe’s quest to win the UEFA Champions League faltered once again last night as Paris Saint-Germain slumped to a 2-0 aggregate defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.

Quite surprisingly, Mbappe looked very disappointed after the game, notably giving a bizarre reaction when asked about tonight’s encounter between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

With PSG once again failing to lift the UCL title, Mbappe is now closer than ever to joining Real Madrid in the coming summer.

However, before Mbappe officiates a potential move to Santiago Bernabeu, his compatriot and former French international Marcel Desailly has a rather unusual advice for the attacking superstar.

Desailly advises Mbappe to move to Saudi Arabia

Reacting to PSG’s loss to Dortmund, Desailly suggested that a move to Real Madrid may not be the right move for Mbappe. Instead, the former defender advised the player to move to another continent.

“I think he should go to another continent, I’m not sure that Real Madrid is the perfect place for him,” argued Desailly (h/t MARCA), who was considered one of the best French centre-backs of his time.

Explaining his theory, Desailly added, “Vinicius plays on the left, they have another great star like Bellingham and he is not going to be the complete number one like he wants.”

Following his comments, the BeIN Sports host asked Desailly what he meant by another continent.

Being a bit more specific this time, the Frenchman added, “On a business level, he can go to the Saudi league, earn €350 million in one year and return next season to face the 2026 World Cup at just 26 or 27 years old.”

Desailly stressed, “It would be a great opportunity for him to earn money and continue playing football after a competitive Euro Cup.”

Mbappe, for his part, is unlikely to heed Desailly’s advice and may, in fact, fast-track the Real Madrid operation.

The coming weeks, to that end, could prove to be crucial, as far as the Frenchman’s future is concerned.
