A formidable partnership with Wissam Ben Yedder

His performances during the 2020-21 (16 goals and 8 assists in 35 Ligue 1 games) and 2021-22 (9 goals and 11 assists in 35 Ligue 1 games) seasons and his partnership with Wissam Ben Yedder, who formed the ‘Yedderland’ duo, helped the team finish on the podium twice in a row and qualify for the Champions League.

Called up to play for Germany at 2020 European Championships

He was also called up by Joackim Löw to play for Germany at the Euros in the summer of 2021, appearing in two games. Hampered by physical problems last season (3 goals and three assists in 17 league appearances), the player from Marktoberdorf in Bavaria will now be joining Union Berlin, his fifth club after Munich 1860, Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Monaco.
