Adrien Rabiot (29) has been a free agent ever since his contract at Juventus expired at the start of July. The transfer window has closed, and still, the France international finds himself without a club. It is a situation that is already affecting his international career as Didier Deschamps left the midfielder out of his squad for the current international break, during which Les Bleus will face Italy and Belgium in the UEFA Nations League.
What next then for Rabiot? He had been linked with a move to Liverpool by L’Équipe in August, whilst Manchester United, a long-term suitor, reportedly dropped their interest. There has since been no update on advancements on a move to the Premier League, however, there is interest elsewhere.
As reported by RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Galatasaray are interested in Rabiot, however, he is not yet at a point where he is favouring a move to Turkey. Meanwhile, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Juventus midfielder rejected a proposal from AC Milan.
AS Monaco were in the market for a midfielder, following Youssouf Fofana’s move away from the Principality club, however, on Sunday, their CEO, Thiago Scuro, was asked whether Rabiot was too expensive. “I don’t know. You’ll have to ask him, his staff,” he replied. Despite their ambition to recruit a midfielder, Rabiot doesn’t seem on their radar, reading between the lines.
