Ismail Jakobs (25) has joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from AS Monaco. The Turkish club have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Jakobs joined Monaco from FC Köln back in 2020 and has gone on to make 105 appearances for the Principality club, scoring once and registering eight assists. Most of those appearances have come from the bench with the Senegal international acting as a back-up to Caio Henrique for much of his time in the Principality.
However, the Brazil international’s injury last season afforded Jakobs more game time, whilst he also started the first two matches of the Ligue 1 campaign. However, he was absent for the match against Olympique Lyonnais with Les Monégasques’ CEO Thiago Scuro impending the full-back’s impending move.
Jakobs has now completed his move away from the Stade Louis II. He will spend the 2024/25 campaign at Galatasaray, who have the option to make the move permanent.
