The transfer window is open, which can only mean one thing: rumours about Jorginho going back to Italy.

It’s a staple of the January window now, and it comes around without fail, although Jorginho is playing well and is an important figure for this team, and Thomas Tuchel likes him, so a transfer seems more difficult than it has in the past.

The Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy insist that Juventus are kicking his tyres once again though, as they look for a midfielder who can actually pass the ball forward. The key factor in play now is Jorginho’s contract, which expires at the end of next season. If Chelsea want to sell him, this summer is the time to do it, and all parties involved know it.

It’s surely just a matter of time before his agent Joao Santos starts chatting on Italian radio stations again, and then the fun really starts…
