Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Jürgen Klinsmann is considered a potential candidate to replace Antonio Conte at the Premier League club, according to Monday’s edition of Kicker.

Currently coaching South Korea, the 58-year-old was in attendance at the weekend to watch Heung-Min Son in Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth. At half-time, Klinsmann received a warm welcome at the club he had two spells at in the 1990s.

Klinsmann was only appointed South Korea head coach in February but is now a surprise candidate alongside Brendan Rodgers, Vincent Kompany, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter and Julian Nagelsmann for the vacant role.

Tottenham’s hierarchy making the correct coaching decision also has a potential impact on the future of Harry Kane, who has a contract with the Premier League club until 2024.

Arnaut Danjuma thought he had rescued a point for Tottenham with an 88th minute equaliser against Bournemouth but they conceded in the fifth minute of stoppage time to a Dango Ouattara goal. That result has left the club in fifth place, three points behind Newcastle United who have a game in hand.
