Tottenham are reportedly working on a deal to sign Archie Gray after his transfer to Brentford collapsed.

According to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, Ange Postecoglou’s side have stepped in following the Leeds midfielder’s failed move to west London.

Gray had agreed personal terms ahead of a switch to the Bees before both clubs failed to agree a financial package over the teenager’s sale.

However Spurs have entered talks with their Elland Road counterparts for a player who has been a long-term target.

The 18-year-old was courted by the Lilywhites shortly before signing professional terms with Leeds, where his father, grandfather and great uncle also played.

Gray made 52 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire outfit last season and was named the Championship’s Young Player of the Season.
