Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s position as head coach at the club will become vulnerable if he fails to do one thing this season.

The Argentine’s position is reportedly vulnerable should Chelsea miss out on European qualification, having failed to win a trophy in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

EXCLUSIVE! Strong chance Pochettino now stays, Benjamin Sesko could arrive at CFC this summer, Victor Osimhen swap-deal unlikely, Tosin Adarabioyo contract demands, Much more…

That is according to a report from Nizaar Kinsella of The Evening Standard today, who has put out a big report out on the current situation.

He also states that Pochettino wants the unprecedented amount of injuries that he has faced this season to be taken into account when the decision makers at the club are assessing his time there.

Pochettino apparently remains in the dark over his future, which will be decided in a meeting between the coaching staff, the club’s owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali and sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, at the end of this season.

Pochettino largely lost the majority of support from the Chelsea fan base recently, but he seems to have clawed some of that back by winning the last two games against Tottenham and West Ham.

Personally the jury stays firmly out for me and I’m not going to be changing an opinion based on two and a half games of decent performances and better results.

I think this end of season meeting and assessment is very much needed I truly hope that the board at Chelsea look at the entire picture, not just the injuries, not just the last couple of games, not just whether we get European qualification or not, and not just on how bad we have been in so many games this season – it needs to be looked at on the whole, from the start of his tenure right up until the end of the season.
