Le Parisien report that new signing Joris Gnagnon, who was sacked from Sevilla in September for a lack of professionalism, has raised a few questions since his arrival at Saint-Étienne in November.
The former Rennes defender, who signed on a free transfer, signed a six-month deal in one of Claude Puel’s last decisions before being sacked and replaced by Pascal Dupraz.
The centre-back is said to have arrived 20kg overweight, with one teammate commenting that he mistook him for a security guard at first – “he was very plump”.
The 25-year-old has since slimmed down, but is reportedly not match fit yet, leading to Dupraz asking for another defensive signing which came in the form of another free agent in Eliaquim Mangala, who himself is match fit.
