AS Saint-Étienne are one game away from returning to Ligue 1 after two seasons in the second division after they defeated FC Metz 2-1 in the first leg of their promotion/relegation playoff.

Despite being the second-division side, Les Verts will not travel to the Stade Municipal Saint-Symphorien with an inferiority complex. They had demonstrated a dominant performance at home against Metz, and as a result, Dall’Oglio will make no changes to the side that won on Thursday evening.
