Lingard scored nine goals and assisted a further four in his brief spell with West Ham and could now be looking to take the next step in his career. The 28-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract and will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with foreign clubs as early as January next year.
According to the Daily Mail, Lingard will seek talks with the club during pre-season preparations, with no talks between the club and Lingard’s camp planned before then.
The publication claims that a decision on Lingard’s future will not be made until the start of next month at the earliest, with interested clubs made to wait for a potential move.
Despite interest from other clubs, it is also claimed that Lingard’s successful loan spell could mean that Solskjaer reinstates the midfielder into his first-team plans, rather than moving him on.
