Birmingham opened the scoring in the 47th minute of the clash as he fired an effort past Lions goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

Millwall levelled proceedings via an effort from Oliver Burke before the Blues were awarded a spot-kick after Lyle Taylor was brought down in the area.

Taylor coolly converted from the penalty spot as he took his overall Birmingham goal tally to five for the season.

Seemingly on course to secure victory in front of their own fans, the Blues were unable to hold on to their lead as Benik Afobe netted a spot-kick in stoppage-time to secure a point for Millwall.

Reflecting on his side’s latest display in the Championship, Instagram that Birmingham deserved to win this game while he also acknowledged his personal milestone.

The winger posted: “Very good performance from the team yesterday [Saturday], I feel we deserved more than a point.

“On another note, happy to be back playing and also happy to have reached 100 appearances for @bcfc.

“Thank you all for your kind messages.

“Be blessed.”

The Verdict

Having been forced to watch on from the bench for the club’s previous six league fixtures, Bela managed to produce a relatively encouraging performance for Birmingham against Millwall.

The Frenchman made two interceptions, produced two clearances and completed 15 passes as he recorded a WhoScored match rating of 6.83.

In the 100 appearances that he has made for Birmingham during his time at the club, Bela has provided a respectable total of 26 direct goal contributions in all competitions.

Bela will be looking to add to this particular tally when the Blues head to Wales this weekend to face Cardiff City in the second-tier.

Considering that they have failed to win any of their last four league games, Birmingham will be desperate to provide their supporters with something to shout about on Saturday.
