Jan Oblak ‘on the market’ as Atlético Madrid look to refresh their squad | OneFootball

A fresh update on the future of Jan Oblak, Atlético Madrid’s goalkeeper, has come to light this Wednesday.

This update comes courtesy of Diario AS, who have reported that the Slovenian stopper has ‘lost his status as an irreplaceable player’ and that the Madrid club will be willing to listen to offers for him.

This isn’t the first time Oblak has been linked with a move away from Atleti, as every summer he seems to attract a wave of interest from a variety of English clubs, and even new interest from Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old goalie has played a total of 441 games for Atlético Madrid across the course of 9 seasons, winning the league in 2021 and the Europa League in 2018, making him a true club legend for Los Colchoneros.

One of the reasons Atlético may now be looking to sell is his high wages, which see him as one of the club’s top earners, netting between €10-12 million per season.
