The Telegraph state that their information is that the James Trafford deal looks ‘pretty much done’ between the two clubs.

Whilst Sky Sports are reporting that the Burnley keeper wants the move and that personal terms won’t be an issue.

Indeed, James Trafford himself said he was frustrated last year when he wasn’t able to make a move to St James’ Park.

Sky Sports report that an improved offer of £27m, including potential future add-ons, has been rejected by Burnley, but that talks continue to close the relatively small gap between the two clubs that will see agreement reached.

Burnley paid Manchester City £15m for James Trafford and part of that deal sees Man City receiving 20% of any profit if Trafford moves on, which has complicated matters to an extent.

However, with both Eddie Howe and the player himself clearly wanting the move, with Burnley seemingly accepting that James Trafford will be leaving this summer, it looks only a matter of time before the two clubs come to a compromise agreement. A transfer fee acceptable to both sides and of course the payment terms of how it will be structured.
