AS Moanco’s winless run at home continues. Not since 3rd December 2023 have Les Monégasques won at the Stade Louis II. They were just seconds away from doing so on Sunday but were denied by a former Monégasque in the shape of Tiémoué Bakayoko, who secured FC Lorient a crucial point (2-2).
Adi Hütter was left ruing his side’s profligacy in front of goal, with Yvon Mvogo’s “dream performance” in the words of the Austrian manager, denying Monaco the chance to leapfrog Stade Brestois into second in Ligue 1. “No one can understand why we didn’t win this game. The team that was much much better did not win. I was very satisfied. In all statistics, you could see we were much much better,” began Hütter in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
He added, “Today was a big, big chance to take the second place. The result is a big, big disappointment. It was just like in the first game against Lorient; we have now lost four points against them. We have to take the right moments to kill the opponent and prevent them from coming back.”
“Today, yes, it was a big, big chance and we missed it. But we continue to work to get the best result in the last eight games of the season. It’s in our hands and that’s important. Not winning this game feels like a nightmare,” he concluded.
