The latest exploits on the part of Real Betis star Isco saw the midfielder secure for himself a place in an altogether exclusive La Liga season club.
Betis, of course, were back in action on Saturday night.
After making the trip to the Mestalla for a meeting with Valencia amid the tight race for European football in Spain’s top-flight, the Verdiblancos ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result.
As much came owing to a brace on the part of Ayoze Pérez.
The aforementioned Isco, meanwhile, also proved himself key to Betis’ three-point haul, laying on the assist for teammate Pérez’s first of the evening.
And, as alluded to above, in the process, the 31-year-old added his name to a high-profile shortlist.
As per statistician Fran Martínez of Relevo, Isco on Saturday established himself as just the third ‘non-forward’ player to rack up 5+ goals and 5+ assists across the La Liga season to date.
The only other two? Barcelona’s İlkay Gündoğan, and Real Madrid standout Jude Bellingham.
