Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will not be available for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Roma over the weekend, and it is not certain that he will be ready to start against Barcelona next week either.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 29-year-old will not take any risks with his fitness, and so it remains to be seen whether or not he will be ready to play against the Blaugranas on Tuesday.

Lukaku has been working to recover from a thigh injury over the international break, and while he is getting closer and closer, it now looks all but certain that he will not quite be fit to play against the Giallorossi.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash with Barcelona is now the Belgian’s target to return, but once again he has no intention of playing unless he and coach Simone Inzaghi feel completely confident that his fitness will not be at risk.
