Inter wingback Ivan Perisic suffered an injury to his right calf during the second half of the team’s Serie A win over Sampdoria earlier this evening.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the injury that saw the 33-year-old have to leave the pitch was a problem with the medial gastrocnemius of his left calf.
Perisic pulled up with a problem during the second half of this evening’s match, and even had to be stretchered off due to the problem.
It was not immediately clear what the scope of the problem was, though there was worry that it could be somewhat serious given the fact that the player was taken off on a stretcher with the injury.
It remains to be seen how serious the problem with as further tests are needed, though it comes at the end of the campaign with no matches immediately on the horizon.
