The battle for Brazilian wonderkid Estevão Willian is heating up, with Arsenal reportedly joining Chelsea in the intense pursuit of the Palmeiras starlet.

The young attacker, who recently celebrated his 17th birthday, has captured the attention of Europe’s elite.

According to respected Goal journalist Thiago Fernandes, both Arsenal and Chelsea are actively seeking to bring the teenager to London. Their interest comes alongside overtures from continental giants like Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

Palmeiras are understandably reluctant to part ways with their prized asset. The Brazilian club will reportedly demand a hefty €45m to release their prized young attacker, reflecting the player’s massive potential.

Despite Willian’s limited first-team experience (only 10 appearances), his extraordinary performances at youth level have made him a hot commodity. It would be no surprise if the bidding escalates between Arsenal and Chelsea as they fight for his signature.

Previous reports suggested Chelsea had tabled a €40m offer with €20m in potential bonuses, but these figures remain unconfirmed by wider sources.

Arsenal‘s hopes of securing Willian may well hinge on the club’s Technical Director, Edu Gaspar. Edu’s Brazilian roots and extensive network of contacts could prove invaluable in swaying the young star towards the Emirates Stadium.
