Inter have set their sights on Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per, the Nerazzurri are prepared to sacrifice a key player in the transfer window, like every big club in Europe, in order to deal with the financial impact of COVID-19.

However, if they are forced to let someone leave they will look to sign replacements of a certain level, preferably youngsters who have already proven their worth in Serie A.

Inter are ‘very interested’ in Vlahovic’s situation at Fiorentina because his salary (€400,000 per season) is very much affordable, despite the club’s economic issues.

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has let it be known he wants €60 million to sell the striker, but Inter are convinced they can work to lower that fee.

Vlahovic was offered a new four-year deal with an annual salary worth €800,000 plus bonuses, but he rejected the bid because it was too low.

Fiorentina have since raised their offer above €1 million (not including bonuses), but in the meantime the 21-year-old has continued to score goals and his value has risen further.

Commisso’s €60 million valuation does not tally with the salary Fiorentina proposed to Vlahovic, creating a situation of uncertainty which Inter are following with great attention.
