INSIDER: Bartomeu admitted Barcelona regrets after Liverpool collapse

Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has admitted mistakes during his time in charge.

Bartomeu resigned as president earlier this season, with his successor to be decided on January 24 when Barca's election is held.

And he has confessed to one journalist he regrets not being stronger after their 2019 Champions League semifinal collapse against Liverpool.

Ernest Folch, of Sport, revealed: "Bartomeu told me: 'I was wrong to be too careful with the debacle facing in Liverpool.

"'What we did after Bayern, we should have done a year earlier. This was my main mistake'."

In the aftermath of the Bayern Munich 8-2 humiliation, Bartomeu sacked coach Quique Setien and pushed out Luis Suarez.
