Iñaki Williams to miss final game of the season with foot injury | OneFootball

The season has come to an abrupt end for Athletic Club star Iñaki Williams, who has been ruled out of his club’s final game away at Rayo Vallecano due to a foot injury.

As much was confirmed on the club’s social media, as they announced that he has undergone a plastic surgery procedure in order to deal with a painful scar on his left foot.

He has the second most minutes of any Athletic Bilbao player in the league this season, behind only goalkeeper Unai Simón in this statistic.

The only games which Williams has missed this season were due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, an event he made a speedy return from.

The club will not be too worried about the 29-year-old’s absence for the final game of the season, as they no longer have anything to play for.

Athletic will instead be focused on the player’s recovery, hoping they can get him back to full fitness ahead of pre-season so that he is ready for the season to come.
